Hi, my name is Jazmin Morales, LSW
Bilingual Therapist for Adults and Teens
I look forward to helping you improve your relationship with yourself
Many of my clients are seeking therapy due to symptoms related to depression, anxiety, or trauma. However, the way these issues show up for each person is really unique. I enjoy taking the time to get to know my clients, to understand their values, and to help them understand why they are feeling what they are feeling. Many times symptoms are showing up because of pressure that people are putting on themselves, unmet needs, or fear based on previous bad experiences. Together we can help you get to know yourself better, understand your needs, and find out how to get those needs met in healthy ways. I can also help you improve your coping skills so you can stop feeling overwhelmed and out of control. I am here to help you grow as a person and achieve your goals.
Why Choose terapeuta bilingüe?
Language is more than communication—it's the vessel for our deepest thoughts, emotions, and cultural experiences. For many bilingual individuals, certain feelings or concepts can only be fully expressed in their native language. By offering therapy in both English and Spanish, I ensure that language never becomes a barrier to your healing. This cultural and linguistic competency allows for more authentic therapeutic relationships and more effective treatment outcomes. Whether you're more comfortable expressing complex emotions in Spanish, need to process family dynamics within a cultural context, or simply prefer the nuanced understanding that comes with therapy in your first language, I'm equipped to meet you exactly where you are. This approach is particularly valuable for first generation immigrants, bicultural individuals, and families navigating multiple cultural identities.
Areas of Expertise:
Depression & Anxiety: I can help you navigate the complex emotions of depression and anxiety with personalized strategies that help you regain control of your mental health. Together, we'll identify triggers, develop coping mechanisms, and work toward sustainable emotional well being.
Trauma Recovery: I can provide support as you heal from past traumatic experiences in a supportive environment designed for your safety and comfort. Using trauma informed approaches, we'll process difficult experiences at your pace while building resilience and post- traumatic growth.
LGBTQ+ Affirming Care: You can find acceptance and understanding in a therapy space that celebrates your authentic self. I provide culturally competent care that addresses the unique challenges faced by LGBTQ+ individuals, including identity exploration, coming out, and navigating societal pressures.
Adolescent & Young Adult Support: I can provide guidance during the critical transitions of teenage years and early adulthood with help tailored to your personal struggles. Together we will address issues like identity formation, peer relationships, academic stress, and the journey toward independence.
Therapy approaches I use:
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT): CBT is helpful for many types of struggles, such as stress, depression, and anxiety. As a culturally competent bilingual counselor who works with teens and young adults, I can help you or your loved one feel heard and get unstuck.
PolyVagal Therapy: This type of approach specifically helps you understand how your nervous system works and provides you with body based interventions to decrease symptoms related to depression, anxiety, and trauma.
EMDR Therapy: I am excited to add EMDR therapy to my sessions. This type of therapy works well for people who are stuck in cycles of avoidance, and experiencing intrusive thoughts as well as uncomfortable body sensations after traumatic experiences.
Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT) Helps you develop psychological flexibility by learning to accept difficult thoughts and emotions while committing to actions aligned with your values.
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT): Provides practical skills for emotion regulation, distress tolerance, interpersonal effectiveness, and mindfulness.
Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT): Specifically addresses the impact of traumatic experiences, helping you process trauma while developing healthy thought patterns and coping strategies.

Why I became a therapist:
For much of my life, I noticed other people in need and I always had a desire to help. This is what led me to the field of social work. There are many different ways to help people as a Social Worker, but one of the things I noticed was the most helpful to people is just making space for them to be heard and validated. Although it sounds simple, I can see that there is not enough space made for truly listening to others and understanding them. This is what continues to motivate me as a therapist.
My professional background:
Master’s of Social Work: from the Jane Addams School of Social Work, University of Illinois at Chicago
I have also worked and volunteered in a variety of different settings, including residential treatment settings for at risk youth, LGBTQ+ affirming healthcare centers, and with separated migrant youths.
